BAPLA - British Association of Picture
Libraries and Agencies has recently launched a new searchable web site www.bapla.org.uk
which provides full contact details and descriptions of all BAPLA members.
The site also assists on line picture researchers with a subject / category
search facility. Full details of benefits of membership and BAPLA
publications such as the BAPLA Directory and quarterly magazine, ‘Light
Box’ are also featured.
BAPLA is the largest organisation of its kind
in the world and celebrates its 25 anniversary in 2000. Representing over
370 picture libraries and agencies, collectively promoting the work of over
20,000 photographers. BAPLA is a non profit making organisation whose remit
is to promote and safeguard the interests of our industry; from marketing,
industry surveys and statistics to lobbying and investigating issues such as
copyright and technology. BAPLA also operates a job seekers register for a
career in picture libraries.
