Capture TM Arctic Journey 'All women expedition reaches the North Pole : Yesterday (May 26 1997) at 22.45 central time, the women's polar relay expedition reached the North Pole. This is the first ever women's expedition to successfully complete the entire journey from Ward Hunt Island (northern Ellesmere Island) to the North Pole. ' Just out, October 99 .... "Matty McNair's
book On thin Ice is a real first and a truly remarkable book. Its the
story of a strong-willed woman who led a crew of housewives, office workers,
mothers and doctors, students, or, to put it simply, women from all walks of
life, to the North Pole. Most had never slept in sleeping bags and never
experienced intense cold, much less walked on pack ice. The interactions are
fascinating, the thin ice mesmerizing as Matty holds it all together to make it
possible. What a tale!"
